Throughout North America, rural communities face similar issues and obstacles. It can be both informative and motivating to learn about the successful efforts of small rural communities, First Nations, and rural development organizations, both within and beyond our province of BC, in strengthening their rural communities.
As a result, the BC Rural Centre is committed to organizing and hosting a conference on rural development, spotlighting effective and innovative initiatives. This two-day event is brimming with inspiration and ample opportunities for networking.
The success of rural economic development often hinges on the presence of visionary rural development organizations with the capacity to bring about enduring, positive change.
During this conference, we will explore a wide array of topics, including but not limited to agricultural practices, water resource management, rural development strategies, climate resilience, and the role of technology in enhancing food and water security in rural areas. Our objective is to generate insights, disseminate best practices, and ignite action to ensure that rural communities not only thrive but also address global challenges such as food and water scarcity, climate change, and environmental sustainability.
We extend an invitation to you to join us in this vital conversation, where we will delve into innovative ideas, establish meaningful connections, and collectively work towards a future in which rural communities not only endure but flourish. By doing so, we contribute to global efforts aimed at ensuring equitable access to food and water resources for all. The Keeping it Rural Conference 2023 pledges to serve as a platform for constructive dialogues, collaborative solutions, and a catalyst for positive transformation. Thank you for being an integral part of this crucial discourse.
