Harnessing the Power of Indigenous Microbes to Regenerate Living Soil
Amy Luck-MacGregor from Spring Hill Soil Lab will guide us through the fascinating world of soil biology and practical composting. Topics will include:
- Understanding the Soil Food Web, why it matters, and how biology can help regenerate living soil
- Identifying key soil organisms involved in nutrient cycling
- Learning the principles of building a compost pile that acts as a highly diverse indigenous microbial inoculum
- Gaining hands-on experience by building a 250–300 gallon (50–60 bucket) “biologically complete” compost pile using a custom recipe
When: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 | 9:00 AM – approximately 1:30 PM
Where: Blue Grouse Winery, 2182 Lakeside Road, Duncan, BC
Cost: $50 for members | $100 for non-members (lunch and refreshments included)
